Working on a S5500 in my buddies garage, The game plays like it should, takes bills and coins spins , adds the wins to credit.  Without credits on the game, even after a hold the buttons reset,, when I press test button it won't enter test. Also when I push either button on the hopper it won't run/dispense tokens. The hopper is a newly rebuilt supposedly working perfectly.  24 volts is getting to the hopper board. Any thoughts?? I'm stuck!

I found the procedure to enter test mode, had to resolder the battery in, it wasn't making good contact, did a proper sram clear and things started working. now I just have an issue with the coin mech. When the door interlock switch is in the middle position it makes a sound with a coin drop, but when it is in or out the coins drop into the hopper but no credit. someone before me blocked the diverter out. still playing with it. Any ideas on the coin mech?

Are you referring to the coin rake on the comparator? When the white plunger switch on the cabinet is in the middle position, the compatitor will be off. Plunger pushed in or pulled out puts the machine in play mode. Comparitor LED should be lit. No credits,  may be the coin in optics under the comparitor are dirty or has the wrong size coin guide.

thanks for the reply.  I figured it out, the game works on tokens and the token in the comparator looked the same, but it wasn't exactly the same. Swapped it for the one he filled the hopper with and BINGO!! all is well.
