Author Topic: Can I set bally alpha to print tickets but not take them back? (Read 891 times)

I am trying to set up Bally printer after clear. I am getting printer config error. I don't have a TITO. I just want the tickets to print. I don't care if they take them back for credits. This is how I do my IGT. I am new to the ballys.

What model printer do you have in it?
You have to set the slot machine, to communicate with that model.

I have the future logic printer. I thought I set it up when setting the machine but getting the config error.

Is there a printer setting for Netplex maybe?
You might want to wait for someone that knows more Bally's than I do.
It should accept tickets if it doesn't have a TITO board installed, but it should be able to print a ticket at least.
It's gotta be some printer setting turned OFF.
You have to dig around in the menus.

If you are getting a config error, you may have to go into the printer config in device setup and enable "2D Barcode". If that still gives you config error you will have to disable it.

If you want the printer to ONLY print tickets but not take them? You will have to set validation to Standard in SAS Setup

You need to go to the "Device Config" page in the setup menu and confirm you selected "FutureLogic". Setup/Machine Setup/Device Setup

That too, this user may be using an older OS and the OS option for FutureLogic is labeled as “Seiko PSA-66T” instead as an option.

My theory is that since Alphas came out around extremely late 2004-2005ish, FutureLogic Gen2 was still the "new" printer around that time maybe and the Gen 1 models were called "Seiko Gen PSA-66-XXXX" among those lines but they were manufactured by FutureLogic but was not under the brand name. Only Alpha OS versions in the 310 Family used that setting and was later fixed in the 320 Family and onward

I was able to get past the printer error but when I tried to print a ticket it went to handpay.

What is your validation set to? Did you set it to system? Since you don’t have a TITO you need to set it to Standard

You will need a different jurisdiction that offers for Standard then otherwise it will always go into handpay when cashing out

Sort of, your OS and Software are fine, the jurisdiction is an 8pin chip that connects to the CPU. Generic and California offer Standard validation

I put the chip in tonight, cleared and reset the machine. The printer now works.
