General Hopper Type Question - Bally S5500/S6000

Hello,

I currently have a 5c hopper installed for my Bally S6000 slot machine. I also have a 25c hopper in reserve. Are there hopper versions compatible with S6000 series beyond the 25c in size? I believe so, but I wasn't sure if the parts needed to change, or the entire unit. Also, I would assume that there are 50c hoppers and 1$ hoppers (old Ike dollars), but I wasn't sure how they scaled. Looking for some insight.

As I recall, when I played with a few of my Bally hoppers, there is the steel spacer disk that lifts the coin up to the proper height and then the coin counting switch/sensor. It might need a small adjustment after you change denominations.

On some machines you can get away with just changing the shelf, which as mentioned adjusts the ride-height of the coin. But some units require you to change the pin wheel too, simply because the pin height and spacing on a nickel unit doesn’t keep quarters properly secured. If you are going to order a shelf you might as well order a pinwheel too.

I changed both when I converted my Gamemaker and honestly didn’t even try the nickel pinwheel.
