S+ Board differences
« on: April 08, 2026, 03:03:03 pm »
Can anyone tell me the differences between these boards? I'm familiar with the dark green board, but the other? Will it work in any S+ machine?

Thanks!

That I know, but is there a difference between them aside from color?

Thanks

It doesn't matter. There are 4 different models of 10MHz S+ MPU's. They are all interchangeable. Color doesn't matter.

Hi, Not sure which your intending to purchase.

The lighter color board seems to be missing 4 chips.

A game set is typically the Game and Reel Chip.
I would be concerned to purchase a board missing more than just these two chips.
I have bought tons of stuff off of ebay but when I see obvious misses like this I get a bit concerned.

I am not stumping for anyone in particular but I would suggest reaching out to the vendors on our home page, identifying yourself as a NLG member and see if they can swing you a good price. I would call vs using their web sites.

I would need to see bigger pics of  each of the S+  MPUs.

There are:

1)  S+ USA Made 10Mhz MPUs,
2)  Newer Chinese made 10mhz MPUs,
3)  Chinese Made 16Mhz MPUs

S+ 10Mhz MPUs will have a volume pot and the silver crystal oscillator will say 10Mhz

On the S+ 16Mhz MPUs look at the silver oscillator it will say 16Mhz and the board will not have a volume pot on it

Hope this helps.
E~

The two MPU boards he's showing us, are the 10MHz MPU's - each have the blue volume potentiometer dial.
Mostly everything IGT had made were from China or Mexico.
