S+ Double Diamond Cash Out Button Not Working

I'm back with another Double Diamond question. I would like for the Cash Out button to pay out the Credits via the hopper. Right now, winnings are shown as accumulating credits and not paid out immediately.

I'm running an SP1137 / SS3441 chip combo.

On the DIP switch, 1 is OFF and 2 is ON which should indicate a hopper limit of 600.

I've verified that the hopper works and counts correctly via Self Test <3>. It pays out 10 coins with that test.

When I go into the Input Tests, and get to Input 22 (Cashout Credits Switch) and press it, I never get the display to change from '0' to '1'. I thought I had a bad button, so I ordered a new one and am having the same result.

There are two connections to the button on my machine. I attached pictures of the old and new buttons.

Is there a setting I'm missing? Or is the button not wired correctly? It's possible the connections are looser than they should be, and if I can get a verification the wiring is right and the settings are right, I will work on the connections.

See the white tab on old one? It is missing on the new one.  Is it backwards?  That is the tab that gets pressed down when you press the button.

Thanks for the reply. It just doesn't show up real well in the picture, and it's red, but it's there. The button is engaging the microswitch. I can feel it and hear it. But as with anything, I'll double check it.

Check it with a multi-meter set to ohms.

If you touch the two meter probes together the meter should go from 0 to 1.
This proves the meter is working and you have set it to ohms (resistance).
Next connect/touch a probe to each tab you should have a 0 on the meter.
When you press the button it should register a 1 on the meter.

If it doesn’t do that you have a bad button or are using the wrong set of tabs.
Most micro switches have 3 tabs.

To add to above, microswitches usually have 3 tabs.
Two are sort of close together.
The middle tab is the Normally Open (NO) tab.
The tab farthest away from the other two is the Common (C) ground tab.
The tab you almost never use is the Normally Closed (NC) tab, except for the Cashout button.

If you look closely at the microswitch, you'll see those abbreviations molded onto the switch body.

The Cash Out button on an S+ IS wired differently than all the others. The wires should be connected to the Normally Closed, and Common terminals.

First, I verified I have a good microswitch.

When I connect the C tab and the middle tab, I get continuity when I press the button.
When I connect the NC tab and the C tab, I get continuity immediately until I press the button, then it stops.
When I connect the NC tab and the middle tab, I get no continuity regardless.

I've wired the yellow/blue wire to the NC tab, leaving the green & green/blue pair wired to the C tab. I still get 22 0 in the display even when pressing the button.
I tried reversing that, with the yellow/blue on the C tab and the green & green/blue pair on the NC tab. Same result. 22 0.

Do I need to re-start the self-test sequence after each wiring change?

Lookes is right about the cashout button...I forgot that's the only button that's normally closed.

My schematic shows Yellow/Blue as being the Spin switch N/O terminal, and Yellow/Orange being the Cash Out switch N/C terminal.  Maybe it's not the same on all cabinets.  I don't have a machine to look at.

This CAN get confusing but try the yellow/orange on the NC tab, and the green & green/blue pair on the C (Common) tab
I think that's where the problem is ? 
That CashOut button shouldn't have anything connected to the middle tab.

Okay, now we are on to something.

The button next to the Cash Out button on my machine is labeled Cash | Credit and had a yellow/orange on the NO tab. It did not work either. Test 23 (Says Change in my doc).

So I took the yellow / orange off and put it on the NC tab and the green & green/blue pair on the C tab of the Cash Out Button.

I put the yellow/blue on the NO tab of the Cash | Credit button.

Now they both register in the tests!

The Cash Out button test 22 goes from 1 to 0 when the button is pressed.
The Cash | Credit button test 23 goes from 0 to 1 when the button is pressed.

I'll button everything up and see if it works in normal game mode now.

Left button is service button - just lights the candle
Next is cash-credit button - when lit wins go to credit meter - when not lit wins are paid in coins

It's working as expected now. Wins are paid to credits, coin-up works, and cash out pays to the tray.
