------------
Hey everyone,
Pleased to announce "Accepting pre-orders" for the "Lucky Board Kit" at $100. Limited time offer. [every time I reorder parts the $ goes up

]
Before shipment, each kit is
Pre-assembled, Tested AND Adjusted to match your system's settings. This leaves you minimal adjustments if any. Not just a bunch of parts thrown into a box. Everything needed to upgrade your CRT to an LCD (less LCD)
Boards have been ordered, along with some extras. Payment not expected until boards are ready in about
3-4 weeks ~May 13.
If you'd like a Lucky Board Kit, just send me a message including what machine you intend to use it in. (need to know what your connector is)
What the heck is a Lucky Board Kit??
A complete (hopefully plug-n-play) system that solves the inverted video and sync issues, that haunt IGT systems when upgrading CRTs to LCD displays. The Lucky Board inverts the video and sync signals and then outputs to the GBS-8200; which then drives the LCD display. Before shipment, each kit is assembled, tested AND adjusted to match your system's settings. This leaves you minimal adjustments if any.
Everything needed for the upgrade comes per-assembled in one easy to use kit (less LCD display). See photo of sample kit
-Input Video harness*
-Lucky Board
-Interconnect wiring
-GBS-8200 Video Converter
-Wall Wart power supply
-Mounting hardware
-Right Angle 110 VAC Extension Power Cable ( a tight fit behind some hoppers! )
-VGA output cable to monitor*Input Video Harness connects in place of your old CRT and the Lucky Board. Harness is wired to match the documented wiring of your machine.
** This is an
estimated introductory price. I'd like to keep it under $100, but with all the various parts, pieces, price instability & shipping from from multiple places, I want to guess high. When payment is requested when boards are ready to ship, I will lower it if possible. Unfortunately, if 10 kits costs me $900 for materials I can't sell them for $50
Lucky KIT instead of Lucky Board.
Initially, I intended to offer just the Lucky Board only @ ~$50. After discussions with folks, it looked to be a somewhat disastrous approach. So putting together a complete kit seemed to mitigate most of the issues.
- There are too many different 8200 boards on the market that may not operate the same
- 8200 boards Version 4.0, Ver 5.2 have different component layouts affecting Lucky Board piggy back mounting.
- Some 8200's can be complicated to initially setup
- Wrong power supplies could destroy the Lucky board.
- Wiring can become complicated
- Unknown mounting configuration changes wiring & complexity
- Can be technically challenging
- Too many uncontrolled variables
