Ceronix 1492 Troubleshooting Help/general question
« on: April 17, 2026, 01:32:19 pm »
Hello I have ran into a no picture and no static on the screen with my igt pe+ video poker machine. I have pulled the board and monitor it's a ceronix 1492 -h. I have seen/ heard there's a lcd replacement? Is there a plug and play lcd replacement monitor available to buy and replace the old monitor and board. If so any link or sellers? And any help would be greatly appreciated the board looks good tho and nothing is broken this just happened out of blue. Thanks !

The first thing I would check is the PE+ fuses.
No static generally means no power.

I believe both Happ and Ceronix sell LCD drop ins.
Not cheap.

There is another thread regarding the “lucky board”
Which converts the PE+ output to a Standard vga.
You would need to find a LCD monitor of the 4:3 ratio (older) off of eBay or similar then Mygiver a way to mount it in the cabinet. Most people mount them to the door.

Member Chris SoCal specializes in Ceronix monitor repair and helped me out tremendously in the past.

Very common on those boards. I work on them all the time. High likelihood a capacitor kit will fix the power supply circuit.
Slight possibility the flyback is out…but you can’t find that out until you change at least the most critical capacitors.

You are welcome to send the board to me. If it is beyond repair I can sell you one that has been reworked.

Everyone here knows Im a huge advocate of keeping the CRT. Even if you replace the board it will be far cheaper than converting to LCD.

You're in good hands with Chris SoCal for getting your board up & going.

If you choose to go the LCD route, I have an adapter "Lucky Board Kit" that converts the signals to work with a standard LCD monitor.  Amazon still sells a few LCDs that fit; also sometimes avail at your local 2nd hand store.
