Sigma Slot Wrong rams ? manual neeeded

Hello fellow slot machine enthusiasts!
I’m writing from Austria. I’ve found a defective slot machine for sale locally and I’m considering buying it if it’s a 'easy' fix.
The Machine:
It is a Sigma Inc. Tokyo mechanical 4-reel machine. The lower glass says "Super Cherry Bar". According to the seller, the model number might be 43114 or part of the WD (Wheel Deal) series.
The Issue:
The credit display shows the error message "RAMS WRONG".
My Questions:
Is this a simple battery issue? I suspect the internal 3.6V memory battery is dead due to long storage. If I replace the battery, is a simple "RAM Clear" via a jumper or key-switch enough to bring it back to life?
Does anyone have a manual? I’ve heard these machines often run on the SG-50 or SG-150 (B52) platform. If anyone has a PDF or a link to a manual for this specific "Super Cherry Bar" or the general Sigma mechanical series, I would be very grateful.
Is it worth buying? Are there any "red flags" with this specific Sigma model I should look out for before purchasing (e.g., proprietary chips that fail)?
I would love to save this piece of history if it just needs some fresh power and a reset. Thanks in advance for your expertise!"

Welcome to NLG.
Rams wrong usually clears when you turn the front reset key. The locks are all usually keyed alike.
If you don’t have a key you can jump the key switch on the inside of the cabinet, its the front switch.
If the backup battery or capacitor is dead let the machine run for a few hours to charge. Then try re-starting.

Also, does it have 3 power supplies inside or one on the back wall? Those are known to have problems. They can sometimes be fixed by changing the capacitors. If you have never worked on power supply,  be careful. They have a large capacitor that needs to be properly discharged.

There are a few Sigma manuals in the NLG File system that is available to contributing members. We would need to see a picture of the computer board.

I will get in touch with the seller and ask about the reset key.

However, I have my doubts—if the error could be fixed simply by turning a key, the seller probably would have done it himself by now.

I’ll see what he says regarding the keys and the power supply setup (if it's the 3-unit version or the single one).

Once I have more details or a photo of the computer board, I will let you know.

I have some more information from the seller:
The seller mentioned that when he bought the machine, all three power supplies were defective.
The current seller replaced the power supply, but he still has the old original units.

He admits he is not an electronics expert but can handle small repairs. He believes the machine just needs a proper reset after the power supply swap.


What do you think? I’m starting to doubt that this is a 'small fix.' At €250, it doesn't really look like a steal anymore

I don’t know if it’s a steal but the computer is running so thats a good thing.
I have seen both situations. Sometimes you let them charge then turn the key and they reset.
Sometimes they need some work. If the previous owner changed the power supply thats a big expense that is taken care of.
Here in the states one of those machines working is worth $450 USD. Maybe more in places where slot machines are not as common. I live in southern California where they are plentiful.
Sigma machines are fun to play and once you get them working they need very little maintenance. They have good sounds too.
