Need SP781 PSR Please:-)
« on: April 21, 2026, 01:26:12 pm »
I have a specialty S Plus Double Diamond 5 line nickel machine. Having issues with dip switch settings and trying to program settings. Have lots of PSR's but so far none that work with this progressive machine.

Take this with a grain of salt but I asked AI and it gave me this:

For the IGT S-Plus (SP781), settings are managed through physical DIP switches on the MPU board and software menus accessed via the "Self Test" button.

1. DIP Switch Settings
There are 8 DIP switches on the MPU board (located in the tray behind the hopper). For most SP chips like the SP781, the functions are as follows:
Switch 1 & 2: Typically unused (No Function).
Switch 3: Reel-Spin Sound. (ON = sound enabled, OFF = sound disabled).
Switch 4: Bill Validator / Hopper Payment. Determines if bills go to the credit meter or pay out immediately to the hopper.
Switch 5: Progressive Enable. (ON = progressive jackpot active).
Switch 6 & 7: Progressive Type. Used to select high/low or double/single progressive levels.
Switch 8: Typically unused (No Function).

The 779 PSR you sent me is real close. As I am going thru test pages. Options are not in same order. Its close enough I am getting close. The machine is not letting me set 7-1 hopper limit it stays on 300 credits. It will only let me have up to 300 credits and bill validator wont take anymore. I need to set the dip switch's correctly so I can have up to 9999 credits on machine and can always take bills and add to credits. I need the exact order on the dip switches so I can do this. It says I need 1 and 2 on so that it can be programmable. The dual in–line package switch selection chart is located on the processor board tray.  The options for this machine are:  max hopper pay, reel spin sound, fast or normal game speed, progressive enable, high/low or alternating progressive, double or single progressive, and link or standalone progressive.  The DIP switch configuration is displayed in the self test mode. My dip switch settings on back of mpu board are 300 credits off or on, 400 credits either off or on, 600 credits either off or on then programmable on and on. 3 is reel sound it should be on on. 4 Game Cycle leave on for fast. 5 progressive off or on, 6 link progressive single off or on, Single Jackpot on or off, Hilo on and on. Stand Alone progressive single on or off, single jackpot on or off, HiLo on or off. If these are not set just right it wont let me change settings in the self test options.Max Hopper Pay <7>   Programmable only if the DIP switches 1 and 2 are set for self test selection (on position); otherwise, this page is for display purposes only.  Determines the maximum number of coins that may be paid out of the hopper.  If set to less than 300 coins, the game will automatically default to 300 coins upon exiting self test.
Bill Acceptor
Credit Limit <7>   Determines the maximum amount of credits that can be accumulated before the bill acceptor is disabled.  The limit must be less than the max hopper size or $2,500, whichever is less.
Partial Pay
Selection <8>   Determines the amount of coins to be paid from the hopper when a jackpot is hit, before a hand–pay lockup condition occurs.  Cannot be set for an amount that is greater than the maximum hopper pay setting.
Progressive #1
Selection <9>   This page is displayed only if DIP switch 5 is set for progressive (on position) and 8 is set for standalone progressive (off position).  This page determines the progressive reset value [1], maximum progressive amount [2], progressive percentage [3], and current progressive amount [4] for the single-level progressive.
Progressive #2
Selection <9>   This page is displayed only if DIP switch 5 is set for progressive (on position), 7 is set for double level progressive (on position), and 8 is set for standalone progressive (off position).  This page determines the progressive reset value [5], maximum progressive amount [6], progressive percentage [7], and current progressive amount [8] for the double-level progressive.
Link Progressive
Display <9>   This page is displayed only if DIP switch 5 is set for progressive (on position) and DIP switch 8 is set for link progressive (on position).  Winner Paid window indicates which levels are enabled {1} or {2}, Coins Played window = 9.  Press the Spin Reels player switch to display progressive information.  Winner Paid window = first 3 digits of the progressive dollar amount, Credits window = last 4 digits of the progressive dollar amount (does not include decimal amounts).  Both external displays also show the progressive amount.  Coins Played window = progressive level 1 or 2.

What makes this machine hard to program is it is a Progressive 5 line 3 reel nickel machine. It at one time had a big digital Progressive display in  the top of round cabinet. It was a specialty machine.

Dips 1 & 2 ON to program limit to 9999:

"Max Hopper Pay <7>   Programmable only if the DIP switches 1 and 2 are set for self test selection (on position); otherwise, this page is for display purposes only."

If it no longer has a progressive display just set it up normal without progressive.

I set 1,2,3,4 too on position and 6,7,8 to off position. Its not letting me change 7-1 to anything else besides the 300 showing. Do I need to clear it again with new dip switch settings for it to take effect?

Thank You for the PSR. Found out this machine will not let you program any credit or hopper changes:-)

How come you cannot set your hopper limit higher than 300? :Scratch-Head:
I normally set dips 1-4 ON, 5-8 OFF for home use...you'd have to also turn on dips 6 & 7 for progressive setting options.

I have tried everything including resetting and clearing machine many times. When I go to page 7 I cant change 7-1 to anything but 300 thats listed . This is a strange progressive machine that use to have digital display on top front of it. It is a 5 line 3 reel nickel machine that doesnt pay much unless you hit all double diamond and pays at different levels depending what  you hit it on. I have the first 5 on and 6,7,8 off. I have tried it many ways and its just not fun when you cant have more than 400 credits. The BV wont take money any higher than that it turns off. I have worked on it for hours last night and today no luck. Too bad it is a very nice machine like new. Cant get it to take anything more than dollar bills and nickels only:-)

SP731 - #7 is hopper and credit limit, #8 is BV limit.

Post a pic of the MPU dip switches - you may have them backwards.

Yes post a pic of your MPU switches.  Did you set winner paid #8 (BV) to 9999?  You cannot set #7 higher than #8.

SP731 is the most common SP used on any S+ machine.  Nothing special about it.

On this chip you only have 7-1 and 7-2 Then I set 8 to 1 so it is on. I guess this is a special progressive tournament model thats why it is the way it is. I tried clearing it 5 times. I used the set chip 5 times. I should be able to just set the dip switches to the settings I want then power up with new settings then go to options and adjust but it wont do that. Some I can set others wont like the hopper limit just comes up 300 and is not flashing no matter what you push. Then it lets you change the next 7-2 which is on 300 also but when done and puch white test button to keep settings it doesnt. I give up lol:-)

I know this is a very basic chip but its configured so cant change some settings. Hopper value 7-01 is 300 and will not change doesnt flash. &-2 flashes and can change up to 300. It starts at 0000 and can be set to whatever.

Your dip switches are backwards.  Machine is set to 300 credit/hopper limit which will not allow BV to accept bills over 300 credit limit.
