Which BB1 OS Card SOLVED

I understand which OS card I need for a BB2 game but how do you know which OS card will work for a BB1 game.    From what I have seen the OS cards for BB1 games are different letters followed by numbers.  So if the game calls for  E1.1 do you have to have an exact E1.1.

With BB2 I know if it calls for a OS 9.2 you can go higher but not lower but with a BB1 can you do the same but the letter has to be the same.
