IGT AVP Topper control
« on: May 02, 2026, 09:51:40 am »
I just installed a glitter bar/topper assembly onto my IGT Universal Slant (G23). I had to make a harness as the power connection on the glitter bar was a small 4 pin plug as opposed to the larger 4 pin plug coming from my machine for power. Got that done, hooked it up along with the 6 pin for the candle and the USB cable and it fires right up and begins a random "attract" mode as soon as the cabinet power supply is switched on. So it's normal lighting doesn't appear to be controlling from the machine itself...it's doing it's own thing as soon as power is applied. I'd like to fix that, if possible.

What's interesting as that if I go into a game that controls the cabinet lights (like UltimateX, which turns the buttons and speaker lights a sparkling yellow color while paying out wins) the glitter bar and topper will also change to that sparkling yellow color while the win is being paid out. So the USB connection is good. However, when the payout is done the cabinet lights (buttons and speaker surrounds) go back to their normal blue color, but the glitter bar and topper go back to their random color cycling "attract" mode. Can I make it just go back to blue like the rest of the lights?

My cabinet is setup for all of the cabinet lights to go into attract mode (random cycling) 30 seconds after the last activity (assuming no money is on the machine). Otherwise they are blue (unless controlled by a game). Can I setup the topper to do the same or is that not possible and it will just always random cycle? I can't find the answer searching the forum and I can't find a manual for this thing.
