WBA-11-SS upgrade?

Hello everyone! I have a S2000(I believe) Triple Diamond machine that has pretty much stopped taking bills. When I first got it last year it worked great, but the bill validator slowly got slower and pickier about the bills it would take.  Now I can't get it to accept any bills.  It currently has a WBA-11-SS.  I have read that you can upgrade to a 13, but you'd have to change the wiring harness too. I've found the bill validator and a harness that looks like it would plug in to the validator.  My current harness goes directly into the PSU, while the one I found looks like it plugs into the board directly. 

I have tried to find a direct guide on what is needed to upgrade to the 13, but haven't been able to find anything.  Can anyone that has completed this upgrade chime in on what exactly had to be replaced to make the newer validator work? This is my first slot, so I am very new to all of this haha

Can you post a picture of your WBA? with it removed and where it electrically connects on the back end.

The harness for the goes directly into the PSU and then from the PSU into the main wiring harness in the machine.

This is an S+ machine.

You probably can't use any of the new money.
The best diagnosis is to start with a $1 bill - as that is accepted in pretty much any form.
Then work your way up using older bills.

IGT wanting to kill of the S+ platform stopped paying JCM (the makers of the validators) to upgrade the heads from accepting the new money. This is for protocol 21/22.
You can get the head flashed to accept all new money but the new 100's and if there are future changes to the bills they won't work.

If it is sitll not accepting money you can send in the head to one of the featured vendors who will clean, calibrate and replace belts as necessary.

The S2000 uses protocol 26 and bill validators for those are upgradeable to current money using all of the hidden magnetic features but a 26-compaitable validator doesn't work in a S+
There are protocol converters (do a search of the forum) but they are not cheap.

The machine was given to me, so I wasn't sure of the model. Thanks for letting me know.

It won't accept any bills anymore, and it slow at taking the bills in. It sounds like the machine is struggling to pull the bill in which I've read that could also be a power supply issue.

Would I be better off buying a good used head that is the same as mine?  Or having mine repaired?

I'm not worried about it taking newer bills, I can find a few older bills to keep in it to play.

To convert you need a transport unit that has been flashed or has an eprom for the correct version software for a s plus machine.
The head from the wba 11 can be used on the 12/13 transport .
Provided it was working properly.
You would also need a new harness to replace the one on the shelf assembly.
You would have to use the same bezel from the wba 11.
That should be all you need, transport unit and harness.

I have those items available, complete tested wba and new harness.
The transport will accept all new bills except the new 100.

Western KY.  I am not sure if my head is good or not, isn't that the part that actually reads the bills? My slot stopped accepting bills all together.
