Ceronix 1492 Wires Swapped- What Purpose??

Hello,
Looking at a "new to me" monitor from a PE machine with a Ceronix 1492 monitor.
There is a short extension on the 4 wire plug to the yoke that is swapping two of the wires.

Curious as to why????

The ceronix board was probably made for an upright game. By adding the short harness to it, it allows it to be used in a slant top game like your PE. Or it could be the other way around too. The harness is used to flip the picture on the screen for different uses.

Correct.
For instance, I have a 1793 I use for testing boards. For some reason they put the anode on the bottom and it’s nearly impossible to get the cup back on without scratching the coating…so I flipped the tube so the anode is on the top. I then needed to flip the yellow and brown wires to flip the image.
This would be a problem if the tube was in a machine and the burn-in didn’t align but for testing its fine.

If your burn-in isn’t aligned that is why.
