Fast flash candle bottom with top lamp off = drop door open

Drop door would be in the slot stand, correct?   I'm not using a stand with a door, is there a way to make the machine think there's a door and it's closed?

Lol, no there's a two wire harness that runs out of the hole in bottom of machine that go to a switch in the stand door.  Jump the two wires together.  If machine is playing fine you can also just remove the bulb from bottom of candle.(or just unplug/remove candle)

Thanks for your help so far.  I'm not seeing any such connector in my cabinet, unfortunately.

  • The only way to beat the casino is to own it.

When the drop door is active the coins bypass the hopper and drop to the stand below. Some had the electric door as described above - others just had a hole.

When machines are being pulled out of the casino - often these harnesses are simply cut. They are not trying to preserve them (the machines) for the next generation.
The units are then often sold by the truck load to a reseller - who shops them out (cleans out the harnesses, removes player tracking equipment etc) and makes it pretty and resells for profit. Other times they are simply put into a container and shipped overseas to the Carribian, or other south american country. If you have ever been in Peru (Lima specifically) you will note that every third building is a Casino (more like a slot parlor - no table games). Costarica, Mexico etc have their fair share of these re-furbs as well.

The drop door can be triggered two ways.
1. The hopper is full.
2. You program the machine to use the drop door.

There is a hopper probe - basically a metal rod with a wire off the top that when the coins in the hopper make contact with the rod it shorts it to ground and it opens up the hopper door. Its common to have this disconnected and the wire is randomly grounded someplace that causes this issue. This is usually the cause of the flashing candle. I am not sure if programming the drop door as permanently open makes the candle flash.

Per checking the programing - what is your game chip ?? This will allow us to send you the PSR with all of the various options like Drop Door settings.
You can get your game chip number by pulling the MPU and looking at the label on the game chip. Alternatively Ricks FAQs on the bottom right of the home page has instructions to display the Game and Reel chip numbers on the winner paid display.

My hopper probe wire is connected, but I haven't tested it to verify if grounding it diverts coins to the hole in the bottom of the machine that would go into a drop stand.

My game chip is SP1145.  I found the psr in the downloads section, but there's only one setting that I saw related to the drop door, and changing it didn't seem to have any affect.
