Right, Im very sure you cannot add credit if it has credits. One exception, I think you can play the number of coins to spin one round, in other words if its a 3-coin game you can add 3 coins to spin one round while it has credit. I think.
Regarding the $1 bill, it should accept ANY $1 bill new or old.
Its all the other bills won’t be accepted if the BV hasn’t been upgraded.

I thoroughly tested it. The bill changer will run with up to 100 credits on the screen, over 100 it will not activate. I tried all bills including $1 with dates 1999 All bill denominations do the same in all orientation. The bill is sucked in 100% then a 1-2 second delay and it comes back out. I am sure this is fixable just not sure where to start. Mechanically it is working so a sensor is my guess.

A few things can cause what you are experiencing. Unfortunately I am not that literate in BV technology but we have several members on the forum who know them well. Can you tell us what BV is in the machine. Please clarify if the BV is 120vAC or DC voltage.
Also, can you clarify if you turn the BV off then back on, do you get any acknowledgment that it was engaged? Im traveling until the 6th of July so I cannot get to my SG to do a cross-check until I get back.

Having said that I do remember having a similar problem with a Sigma BV, I can’t recall if I made a post about it and/or what the resolution was. There is something in the back of my mind telling me there are two necessary steps to get the BV to engage. I know there is the BV activate, but is there a second step where you have to tell it how many credits per unit?

Don’t give up, Im sure we will get it working.

The BV is 12 volt. It is a DBV-45-SG. On power up it does a start sequence with the motors running for a few seconds. I have done the BV activate through the start menu. Before doing that it had no activity on power up.

Im sure you did but just in case, did you verify the dip settings on the BV itself? I recently picked up a machine that wouldn’t accept bills….someone before e had turned all the dips to Yes, which tells the BV to reject every bill. As soon as I turned them to N it started accepting bills. See section 1-25 in the manual.

Lastly, it might be a good idea to probe and watch the 12v PS line while the BV is starting. I have seen those power supplies dip below 10v under load and the BV will not function correctly.

I forgot to attach the pics. Dips 1-7 are off, 8 is on. I'll do the voltage test and let you know.

I think switch 8 designates with or without stacker. You can literally have these BVs drop the bills into a tray or nothing at all.
You are saying they are all ON but in the picture they look off.
If 1-4 are ON they are set to reject all bills.
