Well I just got a: 04/1989, IGT, S+, for $50.00. In perfect condition, it has a issue, the seller doesn’t know what is wrong.
Story goes that the seller purchased a slot machine "lot" 10-20 years ago from a woman. A short time later someone was looking for the slot machines, it was part of a underground gambling establishment that owned them, however they didn't press the issue since it was a illegal business.
I have one IGT S+ with all of the books that I completely restored. I will have this up and running in no time.

I am working on a 1968 809G full restoration and I am going to get it completed first, then this S+ is next.

Since this topic is heating up, I will need to start going through the S plus and see what it has inside.

I still have my 809G that is coming along nicely. I need to strip down and restore the upper unit. Make a few adjustments.

Well, I found the door optics wire is broken. I ordered up another one.
Good thing is that I have a optic door override I built and I can get start diagnostic on it.

So I got a 12 code low battery. Changed the battery and I got the 61 code.
Time to see the procedure to clear the machine. I have everything I need to clear the machine since I have another S+.

No need to clear unless you get the 61 loop. Open door and hold in the test button until you hear a ding and it changes to 61-1, close the door and then flip the J/P reset key one time and wait for the reels to spin. You will need a Double diamond deluxe SS chip and maybe a different SP chip.

SP611 is type 5 so it will work with the DDD. SP1271 will allow credit limit separate from hopper limit. I set credit to 9999 and hopper to 1000.

I was able to get the machine clear, and working. Installed the lock, and cleaned the dust bunnies.

I have a issue with the handle release not working, however the handle works the spinning reels if I bypass it. I need to look at the books and find out if its a program or the coil.
If you look at the coil, it looks like someone has been monkeying with it.

It's the coil or needs adjusting/cleaning, nothing to program.
