Aruze Genex JCM Vizion validator needs to be re-flashed?
« on: June 09, 2026, 12:34:34 pm »
Hi,
Working on an Aruze Genex Innovator machine.
The "Inca Sol " game has a JCM iVizion-100-SS bill validator.
I think it needs to be re-flashed? Not sure really.
ID-003     V 2.80-42 is on a yellow label on the BV in the bottom photo below here.

I keep getting a red LED coming up after the blue LED down on the front of it.
Then the LCD displays "Bill Acceptor Failure" under the Call Attendant messaging.
The bill validator never recycles...LED lights are ON but it's like we have no motor life.
Turning the key to 9 o'clock momentarily, does not erase the "Bill Acceptor Failure" message.
Because of that, I cannot play the game.

Anybody know somebody I can send it in to have it looked at?
I removed the circuit boards and put 6vdc to the two motors - they work fine.
I'm suspecting there's something wrong with the two piggy-backed circuit boards in the transport.
The head works fine in another cabinet, as well as the cashboxes, but this one doesn't recycle when powered up.
Thanks  :cool_thumb_up:

To add,
I think this is what's going on?...>>>

I keep getting 8 red LED flashes, which according to the manual, means "Stacker Pusher Movement Error" or "Stacker Jam".
I don't hear the motor doing anything either...like when you shove in a cashbox for a yellow MEI BA.
I'm thinking it might be a acceptor transport circuit board stacker sensor problem instead?
Just wondering if this may be a somewhat common problem with these?
I've cleaned any plastic optic ends in the cashboxes next to the black plastic flag.
Maybe bad circuit board optics?
There's a small, molded black plastic flag piece on the stacker unit - that sort of blocks the optical "tubes"? inside the cashbox.
They use these "tubes" like in car instrumental clusters on the dashboard or on newer car cosmetic lighting.

I'm imagining that the circuit board receiver optic is supposed to NOT see emitted LED light from itself when the box is inserted and the stacker unit inside is in the "home" position - because of the flag blocking the optical beam.
To me, it doesn't sound like a firmware issue, but more of a circuit board optic problem?
I'm not sure where to go on this.
What do you think?
I'd figure I'd ask around first before trying to box up and send out the BA's.

My HP laptop with Windows 11 was the problem.
I threw the JCM ToolSuite program onto an old Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows 7 and it communicated perfectly with the iVizion heads and transports.
I was able to re-flash them and get one of them working good and accepting bills again.

The other two transports are dead...I'm suspecting bad boards in them....not sure yet.

Keep in mind there is small dip switches under the top lid of the transport to change from RS232 to "the other protocol" which I cant remember other than Opto Isolated I believe.

Thanks...I will compare the serial com dip configurations next chance I get.
I see this on the 7th line of instructions on my sheet...>>>
7. Check under the sensor head of your old BV the position of the two dipswitches located under the clear plastic
cover under the BV sensor head and set your new BV switches identical to these.

Click on Table 2-4 below to enlarge, if needed...>>>
