Door Closure M Issue
« on: June 12, 2026, 03:41:51 am »
I have a door closure M error on an S2000.  I last turned on the machine about a month and 1/2 ago and it worked fine.. Today I turned it on and I'm getting a Door closure M error.
I can't get past the error.  i checked the belly door wires that I jumped. They were fine. I checked the Validator enclosure door wires that I jumped and they are fine. I checked the alignment of the door optics, even removing the reel glass, and the winner paid/coin in display so that I could better see their alignment.  They are in alignment. See pic.  When the door is closed, the latch is all the way down too.  I even tried moving the latch up a little while looking down at the 2 optic halves to see if they might be slightly off and would align better, but that did nothing as the error persists.  The optics seem to be perfectly aligned. Anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong?

Closure M is a good thing. Not an error. It means the machine DOES see the door closure.
Door Open M (or B or MB) IS an error if the main door, belly door, and bill validator doors are all closed. If this is the case, post a clear picture of the MPU since you have checked the door optics etc.

Thanks for the info and help. I get the Door closure M message, Machine type mismatch and call attendant messages at the same time.  I had somebody put a battery holder in and the tray was out for about a day. So, are these messages normal when you change a battery?

Not normal for a battery change. Something cleared or corrupted the EEPROM on the motherboard. Did you change any game chips?
You will probably have to set the accounting and coin denominations as well. The good news is, you don't have to key or clear to do it. Set your denoms and machine type to Upright in menu 7.1 You get one chance to get them right without clearing it.

Awesom! Thanks for the info and for jogging my memory. I
totally blanked on the fact that I had changed eproms. My mind was on another machine where the power supply that I purchased on ebay blew and took out a new vfd that I just bought. And the power supply said refurbished in the Ebay add.
