Another safe adventure.

Another adventure, a GSA safe in Fairbanks has a broken handle. This is on Ft. Richardson, it is not a big deal, except that it is a class 5 crypto safe. I am going to attempt to open it through the handle hole, it may not work. Backup plan is to drill a couple of holes and open it then replacing the head.

Easy peasy.

Wasilla to Fairbanks, 4-5 hours clear and sunny.
Work on safe 2 hours.
Hotel for the night.
Return home next day, raining 4-5 hours.

It was great, a perfect job, good customers, payment, it couldn't get any better than that.  :applause: :applause:

Definitely not the Westmark, it’s from the 1960’s, room was really clean, a lot of it was outdated the door hardware was outdated, and the decor was old, but nice. In a pinch it was fine.

I prefer the Westmark, it’s the best one in Fairbanks, two restaurants, bar, huge lobby with a living room feel. The rooms are awesome. It’s a old hotel that has been remodeled, updated, it still has the old feel, in a positive way. Kinda like the Dolphin hotel in 1408.
It’s located next to the base, so I didn’t have to travel far to the hotel.

So, if you travel to Fairbanks…..

I didn't complete the job. I did get paid $11,900.00, the bolts were drawn back 90% on the door. They brought in a safe technician from the lower 48, three weeks later and you can imagine what that cost.

All from an ignorant bank manager, NCR representatives. I could've probably finished the safe opening within 10 minutes, but what the hell, he told me to stop. Payback is a bitch.
