I have this display for 9 line pay. I don't see where it plugs in. The five lines have an available plug right next to it.

It daisy chains with the door I/O cards. On my machines the harness coming from the cabinet plugs into the nine line display then from the nine line it goes to the door I/O cards.
The jumper wire in your picture is not correct the black plug goes to the display and the white plug on the other end of the jumper cable goes to the door I/O.

Now that makes sense. Door I/O harness to display and end of display harness to I/O. I had nothing to compare it to. Thanks

Not sure the connection order makes a big difference, mine connect from the cabinet to the 9 line then to the door I/O cards and all works well.

It doesn't seem to make any difference, I have both my S2000's wired differently and they work fine. As long as the chain is not broken, it should work fine.

Since the door has 2 cards. Are they both I/O cards? Because it appears that 5 reel machines have 3 I/O cards. And 3 reel have 2 cards.

They are all IO cards, the 5 reel machine has an extra one on the door just for the 10 button deck. Or because of it, however you want to look at it
