New To Me Summit System Converted Bally Questions???
« on: July 06, 2026, 12:28:39 pm »
Hello everyone I just picked up three older slots to bring back to life.  One was working good on arrival, one is gonna need a lot of cleaning, and the other is a Summit System Convert that is missing some parts.  I hope to get them all up and working but have some questions for you folks about the Summit Systems Slot.

I have been scouring the forums and have figured them out for the most part. I know these are not the most well liked machines but I look at it as a chance to learn something different and I like a challenge :banghead:  I have talked to Dick with HMS Electronics and he can get me the parts needed.

The Good:  The slot has a cool theme, its in good shape overall and reels look brand new. See Pics Below

The issues I have found so far:  Missing the eprom chip, missing the coin mech, missing the hopper control board, and missing the air tube.

The biggest issue here is the missing eprom.
Option 1- New Board, HMS can't burn replacement chips for these they have a whole new board that is programed and ready to go. But at $220 that hurts a little.
Option 2- If I can get my hands on the bin file from another slot I can disassemble the package and rework it to my slot(hopefully).  I do have experience here so with a little time tinkering I might be able to use this option.

For the Hopper Control Board I will keep an eye out for a used one or if I can find the schematic I can reproduce one fairly easily.

Anyway just looking for some thoughts on this machine and wondering if anyone has the Summit manuals or a bin file of the eprom from another slot they would be willing to share.

From what I know there really is only one source for information or support on Bally converted Summit System machines. HMS Electronics

Keep us updated if you learn anything ew or useful.

Chris Thanks for the reply,  I have chatted with Dick at HMS and will be ordering some stuff from there depending on what I can find used or not after a little more inspecting the slot to make sure I'm not missing to many more parts.   :Scratch-Head:
