This one should be right up wolftalk's alley...

So I've been having all sorts of minor issues with this thing,  but I'm down to 2 that I cannot figure out on my own.  After replacing the spiral cam (plastic one was cracked) and adjusting the 3 switches on the end of the coin lever (all to open), I'm getting the bell when I hit cherries on the first 2 reels only when a 7, melon,  or medal is present.  If one of the fruits or bar pops up it pays with no bell. I have cleaned the index boards and wipers multiple times.  Have checked diodes on the board they all read good (i suspect the issue may be here...), cleaned all other contacts that o can think of including upper unit ones.

Also blowing the 1a fuse on the reel assembly quite frequently.  Observation shows both jackpot relay opening on the suspect hits.  Been looking at the schematic and it shows 51-5 going to the bell from 7,med, and medal, thru the high payout relay. Any input from you medalist owners? I'll be checking back in the morning with pics of needed tomorrow after I get home from work.

the schem says that's correct IF the high payout relay is powering.  Any of those symbols on reel 3 will cause the bell to ring when the high payout relay is powered.

if you play three coins, then the bell also rings if you have bars on reels 3 thru 5.

the jackpot relays shouldn't power unless you get 777 wins of some kind.

the high payout relay is probably involved, as it shouldn't be powering for a win less than 10.  Can you see what it's doing and check the switches on it for correct adjust?

you'll also want to check the payout counter step-up arm switch with the 98-5 and 93-5 wires to make sure it's not stuck closed or shorting to the unit frame via the step-up arm.

when ya get a chance, can you email pics of both sides of the payout counter unit?  The pics you sent before are now on https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/1081-6/ ... forgot to put them on the server.

the information on https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/1081-1 is also correct for a 1081-6H.  The -6x is the same as -1x except the -6x versions have a tower light.

You may be onto something with a short in the hopper.  It didn't start doing this until AFTER I opened it up to adjust the 3 switch bank after I replaced the spiral cam. I'll get you the required photos this afternoon and will check those wires and update. Thanks!

So....... it turns out when I put the spiral cam back together, I didn't put a spacer between the 2 sets of wiper arms so it was sending the high pay signal thru the low pays.  Was just sitting there getting ready for bed and the schematic popped in my head like a vision  :duh: So thanks for the assistance wolftalk. :thank_you:
