Reeltouch
« on: July 22, 2026, 08:31:24 am »
I have a reeltouch machine that the top monitor will not come on, and lower display message waiting on video. It will eventually say display passes but that as far as it will go. I have replaced the batteries on the top monitor board and the lower 504 board with the varta battery removed. I also have clear the 504 board .I have replaced the hardrive on the monotor . There is no sound from the machines at all. Also removed all the connectors on the monitors cpus and repeated them. There is a green and an amber light on the back of the monitor.  My fan on the monitor power source doesn't come on. I have checked for 110 going to the power supply and it does have 110 volts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Generally waiting for video shows the bottom box and hardware is waiting for a signal from the top box.
Open the top box look for bulging capacitors on the board. There are a lot of them.
If you can post some pictures of the top box motherboard.

Actually the caps that I could see in the pictures look pretty good.
The power supply for the top box is mounted directly behind it.
Which fan are you talking about?  The one on the cpu heat sink or the one in the top box itself?

That fan needs to be operational.
If you have any type of spare fan that you could plug into where the non working is plugged in.
That way if it works then the fan is bad or if it doesn't it may be a power supply issue. You don't have to mount it, just plug it in.

What smoked?
I have a theory.
Please check the connection where you replaced the hard drive.
Before you unplug it remove the harddrive from it's mounting on the door.
Verify the connection to the harddrive. If you missed by one pin on the connector and the little black wires from it are burned...
I'll finish my theory after you tell us exactly what part smoked.

Don't worry there still may be hope

Here is the board pic. i dont see any burnt wires or burn marks on the board.

This is your photo enlarged. It's not identifiable as anything but a bunch of pixels.

Pictures need more definition like your first ones.
Tough to get good pictures with site size limits

I am giving up on this machine to hard to find parts. I would believe the power source is what burnt up I cant see any damage to the board in the monitor and I still get the Amber and Blue lights . And even if its monotor that will be hard to find. Thank you for your help and time. If anyone is looking for a reel touch Tabasco let me know .

Power supply is cheap and easy to make from an old ATX computer power supply.
