Anyone replace 3.6v batteries?
« on: August 17, 2026, 06:36:36 pm »
After having my machine for 8yrs I finally got the 12 error code.  I couldn't tell you how old the battery is,  I bought it from a person not a dealer/store

It is directly soldered to the board.  I cannot hardly solder to save my life. lol    I am concerned that I would get the board too hot and end up screwing everything up.

I know shipping is gonna suck but oh well.   Ideally I would like to have the socket type gadget attached so I can just pop the old out and put in a new one if I ever have to change it again.

It's just a matter of hooking up with a nearby member that knows how to solder a battery holder onto your board.
Since the battery died, it's also possible the board has lost it's memory of what settings were programmed into it.
We need a little more details such as what model machine you have or a photo of the board.

It is a Double Double Dollar machine.  I was under the impression that it is a S+

Not sure how the pics will turn out so I apologize in advance

You have an S+ MPU.
You know what?
You said earlier that "you're afraid to get it too hot and screw it up"...why not just solder your new battery right to the leads of the old battery...then cut OFF the old battery right at the ends where its leads go into the body? You may save the memory programming too!
Just make sure you have the positive terminal in the same orientation as the old battery....which by the way, is the top terminal when the board is standing up in the machine.
To understand which way is "up", the two long white connectors with a million pins are at the bottom of the MPU, and plug down into the motherboard.

KLAR slot repair provides that service.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.
