Bally S6000 Black and white 5 times

Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum however I’ve been reading a lot of the info on this site. I must say this forum is chocked full of info and great advice. I recently acquired a Bally S6000 Black and White 5 times machine that has three MPU boards but the boards are missing the chips that would make it function. The machine has a bill validator and ticket dispenser. I think the previous owner ordered MPU boards but removed the chips or broke them and could not get it working. I notice alot of suggestions on the forum is to use eBay to find and buy chips but I don’t use eBay and was wondering if anyone out there could deal with me directly to find and purchase chips?

I would need U18 and U20 chips and U28 and U43 main chips. I have a set of Saferam clear chips.

The machine is three reel and single Payline with bill validator and ticket dispenser. If someone out there has said chips and can deal with me directly I’d greatly appreciate it.

I’m in the Bay Area of California and there are not any slot parts store near me. Thanks for 6our time.

NLG member, RB, Ronald Ball, makes chips. Send PM to Ron . You will need the SMI number for U18 and U20. The SMI might be on the reel brackets. There should be a decal with hand written numbers on it. For the printer to work you will need 2003 printer support version main chips U28 and U43. Can you post a picture of your machine so we can help with the proper personality chips?

Thanks Sunrise Side for the info and advise. My long range goal is to get the machine up and running so it accepts coins and payouts in coin/credit. I’ll send RB am PM about the chips.

Contacted RB and he said he doesn’t have the chips I’m looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions on finding U18 and U20 gaming chips for a Bally S6000 with a SMI # 8342.??

I was able to find the chips I needed to clear the MPU and also got the main chips for the machine. Did a full clear of the board and all went well. Put the main and personality chips in and fired it up and all went well. Pushed the test button 11 times and got into the options. Went through all the options and set them accordingly. Closed the door and the BV spun a few times and the machine appeared to be ready to play, EXCEPT,….the Win Paid window has two red dots,….the credit window had a 0 in it, and the coins in window had a 0 in it. And the BV had a red circle with a line through it.

I have a quarter fitted into the coin comparitor, the CC has a green light on, the board below the CC has an amber light on.

I drop a quarter into the machine and the machine makes a chime noise and the coin falls into the hopper but the machine does not put a credit in the credit windo, it stays at 0 . The win paid window now throws a 2.1 code with a 1 after the 2.1. If I continue to drop coins in, the win paid window continues to flash 2.1 and the last number goes up by one for each coin I dropped.

The error can be cleared through a reset but it comes right back after dropping the first quarter in. The credit window never advances.

I’m guessing it’s going to have something to do with the CC or the optics but I don’t know anything about how that system works. Any suggestions on what I can do next? Is the BV having the red circle with line through it part of the problem?

I would like the machine to accept quarters and bills, payout in quarters from the hopper, and accumulate credits during wins.

I’m pretty sure all the dip switches are set correctly.

Remove the coin optics assembly and clean the 4 sensors on the backside of the optics board. Then remove the black plastic block coin guide and clean the 4 holes which the optics see through. The optics have a prism mounted on the back side of the comparitor bracket, clean that as well. Use only a cloth dampened with water for cleaning! Open and close door 2 times to clear error.

One step forward, two steps back!

Cleaned the coin optic and the four little holes, cleaned the prism, put everything back together and figured I’d start fresh and put the clear chips in. Put MPU in the machine, held the two buttons down and turned on power. Machine lights up and the speaker is just making a ticking sound and the reels vibrate. Nothing else.

Yesterday the Bally intro came on, reels calibrated, and almost all was good except that 21 error. Now I can’t even get the machine to boot up. Any idea what new problem I’m having??

Got the machine to boot up. No longer have the 21 error but I now get a 23 error. The red circle with line thru it on the BV is now gone and I get 0 in the credit in window and 0 in the credit window but now getting error 23 in the win paid window.

My DSW #2 is set as follows:

1= off
2= off
3= on
4= off
5= on
6= off
7= on
8= off

#8 was set to on and I still got the 23 error. I switched 8 to off, did a clean, and still get error 23.

Thanks Sunrise, believe it or not I got the machine up and running! Everything seems to be working except for one small problem that I brought on myself.  In my haste to get the machine running I got chips that did not match the reel SMI#. So the reels work but the actual payline does not match the glass!

So I am still in the market for U18 and U20 chip. Does anyone have any suggestions on finding U18 and U20 gaming chips for a Bally S6000 with a SMI # 8342.?? I know Sunrise was going to check around for me. It’s a 3 reel machine, single payline, has a bill validator and ticket dispenser. I just need the U18and U20 chips I already have the mains.

I have a new pair of U18 and U20 chips SMI #7911 for sale or trade. Unfortunately I have no idea what game they are for but I know it’s not my machine!! I should listen more closely to Sunrise’s advice!

Be careful!!! These machines "reproduce" like rabbits. I have one, then suddenly I had 20.
