BB1 cabinet won't load game or clear

Recently picked up a BB1 cabinet with Shop til You Drop loaded on it. It was working before it rode home in the back of my car.   Now if I try to load the game, it hangs at 0% on the video screen and eventually an Attendant message comes up. However turning the attendant key does nothing.

If I try to clear it, it gets to the sps module in the kernel load and fails with a "not allowed" error.  The load then stops. I've tried multiple clear cards and get the same result on each of them. 

I have photos of both but they are too large to post here apparently.  If anyone can PM me I can provide the photos via email.

Check connections, reseat the MPU, check that you have fresh batteries on the MPU, then try again.

Thanks, did all that.  Might have missed something of course.  Is there a specific connection that would be likely to cause the clear to fail while loading the kernel during boot?

Is this the only bb1 you have?  Do you have another MPU to try?  Post a screenshot of the boot screen for the clear.
