Konami revolution/ podium/ advantage 5 touchscreen issues

so i have a revolution, which is supposed to be the same cabinet as a podium and the touchscreen on the monitor WGF1990-TSSS05G is giving me an error only after the game is on for a while. A friends advantage 5 has the same monitor. I noticed in the top of the babinet there are no cooling fans but vents on either side and the monitor also has no cooling fan. could heat be the cause as it gets pretty warn to the touch. anyone have any thoughts before i add a couple fans to the top. also though about cutting a 3 inch hole in the back of the monitor and putting a fan to suck out the hot air.
