Newbie to get his first IGT-slot

Hi,
I'm new on this forum and also in the world of slots. I do own some other machines (pachislos, pinball, driving cap) but yet to have my first slot.
Now I'm thinking of acquiring my first and the ones I have been thinking are IGT S2000 Double 3X 4X 5X Times Pay and IGT S2000 Enhanced Unicorn.
Anyone having any opinions on those? Are there any actual differences except the Unicorn being 5 reeler and the Double a 3 reeler? I have been browsing this site and not a lot about the Unicorn... which is the one I'm leaning to at the moment. A beautiful machine in my mind...
I would also appreciate any pointers/links to What To Check when purchasing first modern/IGT-slot list

Welcome! Many members find they like to have multiple game kits to swap into their cabinets. It helps keep the games fun and fresh, while still only needing to have space for 1-2 cabinets. A 3 reel machine will give you more options when it comes to changing games, but I do LOVE Enchanted Unicorn...like I really LOVE it! The sound on Unicorn will be better than Double 3x4x5x. Not too many of the 5 reel kits have real custom sounds, whereas there are some super cool sounds on some 3 reel games (I Dream of Jeanie, Tabasco, Munsters, Jekyll and Hyde, Cigar, Titanic, etc).

I think you're just got to plan on getting 2 machines eventually...seriously, it's easier anyway, as then you have the best of both worlds! For now, just flip a coin!

So as modding slots with game kits sound like easy (?) and relatively cheap way to keep things fresh I'll probably end up with at least two machines.
But at the moment it feels that I might start with the Unicorn...


As the machines I have been looking don't have ticket printer (only coin validator) the next thing after getting the machine itself is probably to get the printer as I really like the idea of printing ticket and being able to use it on another machine (here we go... multiple machines it will eventually be )

Famous last words...  Sounds good at first.  3 and 5 reel, I have access to pretty much any theme I want.  Hey, there was that quick hit game I played at a casino, let me look for that kit.  Wait, it doesn't work on an S2000, what do I need?  A Bally Alpha S9000 Elite, I have space for another machine, and there are lots of kits for those as well.  An how about those transmissive reel games I saw the other day...


Welcome to the hobby, it has been said here that the machines multiply overnight when you turn off the lights.

Yes I have browsed the net and seen some pretty nice Bally Alphas as well... A bit more expensive though.
When I got my first pachi I was told they are quick breeders also... Well I have (only) two of those now and I think the fact that they need a solid nest (cabinet to be build) is the reason they haven't multiplied uncontrolled
As the slots don't need as mach assistance to settle the risk of multiplying is probably much higher...

Honestly need a lot more info in order to help you.
What you've done is called the machnic but haven't let him look at the car, give us a look at error codes and most are happy to help.

Yah, he started off thinking he was getting an S20000, but is now looking at an S+.

Jayson - the machine you have pictured is an S+. They are tanks. Get them up and running and they run forever....almost literally. Very solid machine.they do not have the bells and whistles of the S2000 (like Unicorn does), since they are the previous generation of machine, but they are built to last.
