BB1 gas strut on door

Hey guys,

Is the gas strut on the door supposed to be tight and prevent the door from slamming?  Mine will if I let go of it, so I'm wondering if it needs replaced.  I'm thinking of the gas struts on a hood or trunk of a car when they wear out and won't hold the lid open.

Jason, according to the manual it is to hold the door open so as not to shut on your hand/arm.  :hissyfit:

Like Ron said and they all slam shut if you let them.  No reason too allow it to, especially if you have a monitor mounted in the door.
