I'm Looking for a DBV-200-SH Bill Validator Head

I'm working on a CDS Video Poker Machine, and I can't get the Bill acceptor to work.. Mines a DBV-200-SH.. The one I have does not have the removable eprom, but has to be flashed to upgrade the software, it's running software V.2.02-04 (8071). I would like one with the eprom if possible, but not necessary.. I'm also looking for the latest software upgrade for this CDS machines DBV-200, It should be version 2.60 05 and came out in Sept. 15, 2005..

Yes I did.. Both sets of dip switches are all in the off position. I know the board with the battery has a row of dip switches. I wonder if one of those are not set correctly?

I was going to reply more but I'll add to the ongoing thread, not here in the WTB section. Did you check with CV slots? Usually they've got some. I'll check my "stock." I actually may have one, or two... I forgot what I had.

Well I'm struggling to find anything about this weird Sega, that looks like a Mills!
I don't have a DBV 200, only a WBA12, which won't work! Check with Roz.

Thing is that its not just a DBV-200, but its special.. It's a DBV-200-SH  :Scratch-Head:  I think (it) miss two letters after the SH...

I've just searched for a half hour on this sh thing and can't find my old post!  :hissyfit: It has to do with how the bill loads... from the top or bottom. I'm sure someone smarter than me will remember!

I was thinking the "SH" was JCM's way of saying the bill travels Horizontally to the stacker, like straight thru the head and then Horizontally into the transport mechanism immediately behind it?? As far as I know all of the DBV-200 heads themselves are the same, it is when you install the particular software (eprom or flash) that makes it an "SH" or "SS or "SU", etc. The software in the DBV head, along with the rest of the parts to the bill validator setup like the transport and stacker, is what determines the suffix and that can be different from one brand of machine to another depending on how they do the cashbox. I think you can take ANY DBV-200 head, install the CDS software ID-004/BAR and it will work in Amechanic's CDS machine. Is this wrong?

Gary,  go to the downloads section, the flip cards have a procedure to test the unit out of the machine, you can use any black vented power supply.  The "SH" just indicates the physical type of input to the head. the SH has a permanent  duckbill mounted to it, the SS has none, you have to add the type to it.
