resetting max payout percentage

Hi everyone, what I am looking for is step-by-step instructions on how to reset the max payout percentage, on IGT S 2000 slot machine called red-hot sevens, I recently purchased this machine and the guy that originally bought it, had the percentage set as high as it could go, now I have it and my original idea on purchasing this machine was to have my family and myself play it and save some money and put it toward a nice vacation, but the way it's set up now, you cannot lose, it is constantly paying, with the machine I got two key chips a 45 and 224 it came with simple instructions it says that the 224 clears the whole machine and you have to set up everything all over again, the key chip 45 just unlocks the menus so that you can make changes as long as there are no credits on the machine, the latter is what I want to do, I just want to change the maximum payout percentage, I'm pretty sure, thatI know where the 045 chip goes, but then I need step-by-step instructions on how to change the payout percentage, any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Barney, welcome to NLG.  If you know how to remove the mpu on your machine that will help.  Always with power off of course. The sb chip number will help out as I'm not sure if RH7s is an S+ game. If the number is: 0001000 then it uses a reel chip to change payout percentage. If it's another number then you can change that in the menu on the machine. You may have to use the key chip to enter that menu and I'm not sure. My S2000 has the 1000 chip in it. Check the sb number  or take a picture and we can get you going. Ok that being said you have to remember this is a slot machine. It may act like an ATM but believe me in time (a month or two) this dude will act like a regular slot and take your money at will. Now if it's not taking enough then by all means set the percent. lower. Generally they are a little "looser" at first then revert to their nature. Which is: It's a slot machine and if you play it long enough it will take your money. That's what they're designed to do. But enjoy your machine and if you still want to change settings let us know. Somebody's always home here.

Hi, okay I checked the paperwork for my machine and it is  a S 2000 upright, I am enclosing pictures of the board to further help you, help me, in my quest,  so hopefully  with this information, you can give me this step-by-step instructions to change the max payout percentage.

Here is a link to changing the payout percentage for an S2000. It covers how to get to the correct menu on the machine. Looks like you will need a key chip if you don't have one already. Those are available from vendors here or on e-bay. I believe you will need a Key 45. If that's not right hopefully someone will chime in.

Great!!!!  I did it, thank for your help, only one thing, after setting the percentage, I hit the Max bet to get out ot the key chip settings, and the machine restarted, so does that mean that the percentage is now set, and locked in, or was there something else, that I had to do to lock it in?

All my paperwork says you hit max bet to save and exit the settings. I believe you got it fixed. Good job, enjoy your machine.
