PAYPAL - how to verify 1099 reporting

has anyone come up with a way to use the PAYPAL downloads to produce a report that breaks out the shipping - fees - refunds etc and prove the 1099 reporting?  I just tried to use QUICKEN but it was a nightmare (I am on a MAC) - there is a QIF download from PAYPAL that is supposed to be QUICKEN compatible - yet quicken says that file format is to old.  I have been taking data and spread sheeting on excel but that is time consuming.

Not sure if you know about it already or not, but PayPal has a financial summary/statement/report (I can't remember exactly what they call it) that you can download.  It breaks that information out into more detail and makes it easier to understand how they arrived at the 1099 total.

yes they have lots of reports - but they show income but don't break out the expenses like shipping fees credits etc.  I have one report that matches the 1099 but I haven't been able to reconcile to that amount.

I personally download all my PayPal data for the year and import it into a MySQL database.  Then I can run any queries I want as needed.

I haven't found a decent one yet from PayPal. Sure, I can get totals for the year, but no details other than PP fees. when I export to Excel, it produces 2 results for each transaction (one authorization, one payment complete), so I just use Excel and sort, delete the duplicates, and finally get my totals that way. I have a PP MasterCard linked to my PP, that I use to access finds in PP, so I have to weed out a ton of my transactions.

Oh, and I prefer to download each month separately, as it keeps the files smaller and easier to work with.
