Bally Gamemaker 7200

I'm converting a Bally Gamemaker 7200 from a tournament machine to a coin payout.  As of now the hopper will not pay out any coins.  I noticed on the cable from the hopper to the door panel that the end fastened to the backboard marked printer/hopper has a red jumper wire.  I was wondering if when converting back to a coin payout game that jumper wire has to be removed.  Anyone have any ideas if this stays or goes.

It goes, makes the machine think it has a hopper by grounding the coin output signal.

With no coin passing through the hopper optic the IR transmitter LED in the optic is sending IR to the receiver  transistor turning it on and grounding the coin out signal.

A coin through the optic blocks the IR signal and the coin out signal goes high for the amount of time it takes the coin to pass.

Jumpering pin 6 to 9 on the machine side hopper "S" plug (after removing the hopper) does the same thing as the jumper on the backplane board.

At last a time to complete this topic for me.  I sent my main processor board to Rand Hein at AZ Slots.  He replaced the main chips which were set up for tournament play as well as the individual game chips.  He returned the board to me and I installed.  Everything works perfectly.  I had to redo the inner door to match the hopper discharge chute.  This was easily done with a skill saw and a fine blade.  I highly recommend Randy and Stephanie Hein of AZ Slots for help if you need to convert one of these machines.  Good Luck
