Bally S6000 23 error HELP!!!!

Okay, I have a bally S6000 that has the 23 error showing up. I have the leave in clear chips. I have replaced the optics and coin comparitor and these were both working about a week ago without issues. I am also having issues with the bill validator as well. I have also replaced the main-board also. Here is where the problem started. My bill validator was not cycling but the lights were on so I ordered a refurbished one from World wide gaming. I shut the machine down and replaced the complete validator and did a clear. I flipped the DS1 8 to on and proceeded with the clear. I let the machine go through what it had to shut the machine off and turned the DS8 into the off position closed the door, it cycled the reels and then went straight to the 23 error. Now I have tried all steps to get rid of this error. Opening and closing the door. Making sure the optics were cleaned. Making sure the harness was connected. Tried the reset button and nothing. Still shows the 23 error. I also replaced the harness between the back plain board and the validator. This was just supposed to be just a validator change but now has ended up a nightmare. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on or what I might have done wrong?? Help!!!!!!

Check ds2 #8 it should be on. Try without the new bill accepter and narrow it down. Scott

Made sure DS2 8 was in the on position and it is. Took out the bill accepter and still the same thing. Even tried a clear again and still the same thing.

If you changed the MPU, be sure the DIP  switch setting is set properly for the type of bill validator you have. WBA or Mars.  If you have to change the setting  you will have to do another clear after the changes are made.

I understand that and the switches are correct. The problem that I have to fix first is the 23 error. I will get to the validator after I get the machine back up to at least take coins. Oh and BTW the switch on the front of the MPU is in the on position.

Read all of post of those posts and tried all of their steps. Nothing worked. I checked and double checked everything and still the same. 23 error.

Did you check the pins on the back of board where it plugs into backplane ? Make sure one is not bent

Yes. Checked all pins and connectors. Everything looks good. Hell this has been a pain in the butt.

Have you cleaned the Prizm on the backside of the coin optics bracket? If you remove it, pay close attention to the positioning and use only water to clean it. Also could try holding in the reset button for 30 seconds and then close the door.
