Ok so now we figured out that it's a Players Edge unit, now who has the locks I can purchase from? I would like to get this thing in the house instead of collecting the desert sand.

I'd check with Jim at Midwest Slots. His banner is on the home screen. You'll need a 2341 keyswitch for the upper hole which is the jackpot reset switch. It should have a green wire and a green wire with a yellow trace going to it. The round hole below that (and the two small holes) I think was probably for a player tracking card reader that may have been mounted to the side of it. That's where they put some of them back in the day before they were integrated into the machine. You can get hole plugs for those at a hardware store or online. The last three are the main door lock, belly door lock, and I think the bottom one is probably for some type of lock for the bill validator, but mine doesn't have that one, or even the hole for it, so I don't know.

Not sure, I didn't want to try since the one key switch has two wires going to it. I'm a novice at this, I'm currently medically retired and just trying to start another hobby besides raising chickens.

Ok. The switch is normally open, and closes when the key is turned. So you can power it up like that if you want to, just make sure the wires aren't touching each other or the cabinet. The picture makes it look like the spade terminals may have been cut off? If this machine has been sitting around for a long time you'll probably have a dead battery that needs to be changed. Hopefully the CRT works so you can see if that's so or not. The CRT is the weakest link in the machine and also the most difficult to repair in my opinion.

Hey Tilt, thanks for all of the wealth and knowledge of this machine. I know the CPU is located in the top rack behind that lock which BTW, how do I remove it? Do I drill it out?

If it's locked in place then yes, you either will have to drill it or pick it. Some of the round barrel locks are easy to pick and tools to pick them are cheap. I'd give that a try first.

Tilt, then I unplugged it, waited 5 minutes (like what a Microsoft Windows Rep would say) then plugged it back in. This was the new message. I know that I'll be needing to drill the lock off of the CPU cage and then replace the battery but will the errors disappear when the battery is changed out?

When you change the battery most of these errors will clear.
The one about an extra coin out may be the result of a bad hopper brake .... all easily correctable.

The big challenge is drilling out the lock and not getting iron filings on everything else.

What kind of lock is it ? if its a traditional cabinet key and not one of the round ones - you might be able to pick it.

You'll want to get a SET chip for it too so you can set the machine denomination and enable the bill validator. Member RB here can set you up with that. I'm glad the CRT is still working!
