IGT Spin Til You Win - Multiple issues.

Can anyone tell me the type of this slot? Is it possible to set it so that it pays out immediately on a win without hitting the cash out? I'm planning to buy this machine, so unfortunately I can't test it out beforehand.

From your photo, even though it doesn't have a DBV, I would say that it's an older IGT S+ slot machine.
Ask the seller if they could submit you a picture of the MPU circuit board.
Or at least a photo with the door opened.

On that model, the MPU circuit board would be located vertically inside against the left wall of the cabinet.
To give oneself some room, they would first slide out the coin hopper, put it aside, grab the big black knob on the MPU tray, wiggle it upwards and out.
If there's a wiring harness plugged into the vertical circuit board, then it's a straight "S" or "M" model.

This machine was primarily designed as a coin-based machine.
The default payout setting was for the coin hopper to pay out wins into the coin tray.
If it's set to accumulate winning credits to the display, it's just a simple matter of hitting cash button once, to make the machine pay out the way you want it to.

That's an S+.
The upright left wall vertically-mounted 10 Mhz MPU circuit board tells me that.
You can see the blue potentiometer volume dial on top towards the front.

That is the correct coin comparitor for your S+ machine.
What do you think is wrong with it, besides it missing the sample coin?
Is the coin sensitivity dial adjusted correctly?
Take a small jewelry screwdriver, stick it in the adjustment screwhead and turn it fully counterclockwise, then turn it clockwise 1/4 turn.
That will put the sensitivity in the ballpark area for American quarters.

I didn’t have the slot with me, I won't be able to test it until January/February at the earliest. Do I need any clear cards or similar so that I can make the settings?

I didn't even notice that the coin was missing, I will be able to check it as soon as the slot is with me, this will be the case in January/February. I will let you know here if it worked. Thanks anyway for the important tip!

The exception is the bill validator which needs a set chip.

People have had issues after a battery change where the cmos got corrupted and a clear chip is needed but this is a rare occurrence and not something that is routinely needed. It brings all settings back to factory. The. You need to spend a lot of time setting everything back to regular use.

I’ve been working on my IGT S+ slot machine (I have picked them up in the meantime) and made some progress. I was able to set up the coin acceptor with a matching coin, and now the coin passes through properly.

However, when I turn on the machine, nothing happens except for the lights turning on and the transformer humming. I have reconnected all cables, removed and reinserted the mainboard, but the issue persists. The mainboard is currently missing the battery (what type of battery is this?), but I don’t think that should prevent the machine from powering up. I’ve also checked the fuses, and they all seem fine.

To better diagnose the issue, I’d like to check the voltages at the Molex connector (6-port, wires: orange, orange, brown, blue, green, green). Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find the correct pinout for this connector.

Does anyone have suggestions on what else I should check? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you clarify EXACTLY what happens when you turn on the machine. You stated that "the coin passes through properly."
That means something IS happening: it's taking a registering a coin. Is that showing up on the display? Are there any error codes?

Or are you staying that it is now no longer doing anything except lights on and humming?

Nothing happens, the display doesn't show anything. Yes, nothing happens apart from the light and the humming of the transformer.

It's VERY difficult to read answers trapped within quotes of quotes. 
You need to write the response beyond the quotes or it puts it IN the quote.

It looks like it's now just lighting up and you're hearing transformer hmmm.
I think this is going to be a particular molex that's partly fried.
Hang on. I'm summoning the king of the S plus. This is likely a VERY common issue, and actually is posted multiple times here in s plus. as well as in the "look here first" section.
I'll find another thread on this topic in a minute, or member stayouttadabunker will chime in.

Thanks for the Link. I have already looked at the Molex connector and it looks ok to me, so I wanted to check the voltages, unfortunately I don't know what should normally be there.

With the hopper of it I would wiggle the connector up and down and see if your reels suddenly get stifff.
You will see them kind of jump to attention.

Post what voltages you have from left to right and I am sure someone here will look them up for you .

If you have a digital multimeter, set it for AC voltage.
Stick the red probe into the top of any of the two oranges wires.
The black probe, just touch the anything metal like the floor of the cabinet.
The orange ones need to read around 24 VAC.

Next to the orange ones is the brown/blue wire.
Stick the red probe into the top of that one and the black one on the floor again.
That should read around 8 volts AC.

The solid blue wire next to it should read slightly less at 7 VAC.

The problem with the next wire, the green one, is that is the one that's always trying to energize the reels to make them "stiff" or energized - when stopped in between spins.
So that second green pinned wire, tends to burn out.

Often when the machine is having power problems, if you were to pull that white 6-pin Molex connector off of the floor-mounted motherboard male pins, many times there is often a brown burn mark on the back of the housing.
That usually tells us that the pin is becoming oxidized and needs to be serviced with a new trifurcon female pin for the housing and clean up, or replace the motherboard male pins.
