I finally found the time to tackle it. Here are my measurements: VAC

Black on green, red on other orange 13VAC
Black on green, red on brown 19VAC
Black on green, red on blue 20 VAC
BLACK on orange, red on other orange 26VAC

I removed the coin.

I have since replaced the battery on the board and noticed that it does not have the original EPROMs. I read them with my Xeltex Superpro 610P to check if they are correct, and I saw a poor pin contact:26. What I have noticed is that when I power up the board, the reels maintain their voltage, but nothing appears on the display. I currently have an S-Plus Set (SET15) and an S-Plus Clear. Can anyone tell me what else I need or what I can test to get my Spin Til You Win working again? From my point of view, the voltages are OK. My guess is that it's these two EPROMs.

For your information, the glass on top of the two ST M27C512 chips, should be covered.
When you read them with your programmer, what did you get for the CRC?

Yes, I know, I can read the Reel Prom, because I get the Poor Pin 26 Error. For the Game Prom I‘ll check later.

That GAME chip of 512KB is really too big, unless you wrote the file on it eight times - to fill it up?
The SS Reel chip is only 64kb in size, so that one is fine.

The "poor connection pin 26" message...Did you pull up the chip and check if the chip leg is folded underneath the chip body, instead of in its socket hole?
May I ask where you're from?
I've never seen that language on a programmer....lol

I checked the legs, pin 26 is not bent, and I also cleaned it with isopropanol, but nothing helped. I think the Reel Prom is definitely faulty.

What are you getting for a CRC? Checksum?
Does your programmer tell you what SS chip it is?
I pulled SS4452 for example and threw into my programmer.
It should id the chip on line 1F30 - in the buffer.
The CRC is on the bottom I circled in red.
We just use the last four number/letters.

Yes, I know, but it's only like that when idle (without the circuit board), so I think it's the reel prom that's causing the problem, but I can't make an image of it because it's defective. I have a replacement, but I can't burn it properly.

27C256 should be an easy burn.
Occasionally if I am out I will duplicate the bin file to make it twice as big and then use a 27C512
Saves me from figuring out the offset.

I dont have the original File for the Reel Prom, because I couldn‘t read it anymore from the faulty one. I could burn it by my self, but without File it‘s imposible.

Phew! That's an crappy tight 87% chip!
There's only 2 chips that are worse than that one. lol

I'm getting a different checksum than yours.
I have F100 on Line 1F30 from a 64kb chip.
When I throw in a 512kb chip, I get a checksum of 1100.

You have 800H and the ID of the chip is on a line(FF30) as if you were reading from a 512kb sized chip.
In other words, the same 64kb file copied & re-written 8 times onto a larger 512kb chip.
It might explain why your checksum is 8 times higher...lol

Can you give me a checksum if you set your chip size to an M27C64 or 64kb and then read it?
I want to see if you get F100 and the ID on a different Line.

I have now found an issue on the board during my analysis. I’m not sure whether this could be the cause, but I will replace it as a precaution. It is completely shorted on one side with solder.

What I noticed is that I am only measuring 2.5V DC at the CPU. I will check whether this changes after replacing it.

So the input of 4A was shorted to the output 5Y. Since its only an inverter I don’t think it would have fried the internal traces. But I don’t think it would pull your 5v line down either. I would need to consult a schematic but IMO it probably turned something on that was intended to be off. If you find U52 on the schematic look at pin 10 and see what it goes to.
That IC basically says is if the data input on 4A is HIGH output LOW on 4Y.
Same thing for 5A and 5Y.
That jumper basically made the output of 5Y do whatever the input of 4A is. But if 4A was low and 5A was low its possible it would behave as expected.

I seriously doubt it caused the entire board to fail….unless its a check circuit for power up (watchdog).

Hey Mark
There must be several revisions of the S+ board. I found the schematics…several versions. But none of the schematics has U52 as a hex inverter (74HC04).

I found several photos online that show U52 as that hex inverter just like alfa75s photo, but no schematics.

If it was on my bench I would just probe it to confirm it is performing as expected or pull it and drop it in my tester but I cannot find what functional circuit it is part of.

Hi everyone,

I have an update on my IGT S+ “Spin Til You Win.”

I was able to fix the initial MPU issue by replacing the MC74HC04 chip. After that, I successfully performed a clear using an S-Plus Clear Chip, following the correct procedure. I’ve also located the self-test button and can access the test menu.

The machine is now showing Error 61, and the tower light (candle) is blinking. From what I understand, this indicates a CMOS error. However, I’m having trouble completing the reset/setup process.

PSR Request: I’m looking for the Program Summary Report (PSR) for this game so I can properly configure the Type 4 (“Spin Til You Win”) setup. Unfortunately, there are no identification numbers on the EPROMs, which makes it difficult to determine the correct configuration.

I understood everything except the reset key — where can I find it? Do I not need to make any machine-specific settings after the reset, and how can I check which game and reel version I have?

I would also like to program the hopper so that it pays out immediately whenever a win is made. Is there a manual or guide where I can see which settings are available for the game I have?
