I installed a new EEPROM and getting better results.  Still get a CALL ATTENDANT - BAD GAME EPROM on some startups but very infrequent in its game room location.  On restart, it always boots correctly.  Is this likely a cold solder joint or a bad cap/resistor on the backplane?  Always hard to diagnose intermittent issues.  Thanks to all for the help along the way.  Pics in next post.

I wonder if "CALL ATTENDANT - BAD GAME EPROM" is just a dirty socket hole on one of the chips?
Spray some contact cleaner or deoxidizer into the chip socket might not be a bad idea.
Let dry, re-install chip and see if the message goes away?

The MPU came from Alan - Badbaud and he added a socket for the EEPROM on the motherboard/ backplane. Will try some more contact cleaner if it gets to be a routine occurrence.

Not that one...that's different...your error is the Game Eprom, not EEprom.

Alan had both boards. The mpu with the game EPROM was tested on his bench. Regardless, dirt can cause the intermittent issue. I will try the contact cleaner next.

That's a lot of weight on that desk. I hope it's sturdy. And, are the machines bolted down to it?

Bolted down?
Is he worried someone might grab a machine and run away with it? LOL

 :24:

I guess I should have clarified. All my machines are bolted to the stands in case of an earthquake.
And...
Years ago - a child of one of my friends pulled the handle, down and then kept pulling down with her weight on it.  I stopped her of course but realized that, if the table/desk/cabinet/base was unsteady, it could topple over.  :CaptainHappy_worried:

Thanks for the safety note.  The desk was my grandfather's (pre-IKEA) and could support at least 1000#s.  I'm not worried about earthquake in MD, but I never thought about the arm being used as a chin up bar.

Unrelated, still looking for help sourcing a 50-cent hopper.

Speaking of ikea I don’t bolt mine down but I do use  straps to hold mine on the wall so they won’t tip.
IKEA provides these with their billy book cases but if you go to their returns/parts you can get them free for the asking. I have one in the corner and the ikea straps won’t reach so I used that “all round” metal strapping you can get at HomeDepot in the plumbing department. You do want to make sure it’s into a stud. I have pulled butterfly anchors through drywall with enough force.
