That is what I already tried and it  burnt something up. What do you do with the old power supply with the bigger connector? Do you leave it connected or just leave it out of the machine all together ?

The larger plug should match the existing one.  Then just use the smaller plug cut from the original matching the wire colors.

Ok I found a power source , the monitor comes on and goes through the memory and gets to the Primaey master none.primary slave none. Secondary master and slave says none. Cos checksum error, Defaults loaded . At rhe bottom press F1 to continue abd Del to enter setup . Now what do I do? Do I need to hook up a laptop and what cables would I use ?

ok now the screen is on and during boot up there is a message disc boot failure, insert disc and press enter. I set the time and day and save optimal setting. any help would be greatly appreciated. is there a place or set up procedure for the monitor and game. i have the 45 and the 224 clear and key chips

OK you are making good progress. Do not clear at this time.
I see a few issues let's work one at a time.
First you need to find an old computer keyboard with a small ps2 plug (purple).
On the side of the top box you will find the ps2 plug for the keyboard.
Plug in the keyboard and turn on the top box. Immediately keep pressing the delete key on the keyboard.
You should now see the bios screens on the screen.
Set the time and date. Also press the pf key that says "load optimized defaults "
Save and exit. I'm assuming you replaced the coin battery.
I believe you said you have done this.

The biggest problem is it's not seeing the harddrive or the cd rom player.
CD is not needed but a good harddrive is. I would suggest trying the original harddrive first.
I would suspect a replacement drive at this point.
Be really careful when you plug in the harddrive. Be sure you have the pin orientation correct.  If you miss by one pin on that harddrive it will smoke the harness in a split second.
Check the connections on the motherboard where the cdrom and the harddrive plug into the motherboard.
Report back pictures always help.

I have set the time and date and reset optimized save and exit. And this is where it goes to in the picture . I tried the old hardrive and it does the same gets to the point and will not go any further. I will check the connections. There is just one long connector on the hard drive but there is 4 pins on the on end that nothing connects to, is that normal? Does the harddrive need to be program before installing ?

Do you have a good hard drive? I have replaced the coin battery. When it first started the disc holder for the cd came out and now it wont come out if you push the button to eject it. Not sure if has anything to do with the disc boot failure message ?

That white 4-pin Molex connector ( sometimes black colored too) is the hard drive power connector (HDD).
The CD player also uses that connector as well.
They look like the ones in the photos below.
These used to be very popular in old desktop personal computer towers back in the early 2000's.
One end of the plug needs to be plugged in to power up the CD media player and/or the hard drive.
The other end should be coming from a power source such as a power supply or a power harness in the topbox.
Qbert would know which one.

The hard drive 4 pins I was referring to it 2 on the top row and 2 on the bottom row of the hard-drive.

OK that 4 pin connection is the power for the harddrive. That is your problem.
First let's get some information.
The harddrive must be programmed for a specific set of chips and configurations .
If you did not have the harddrive programmed for your machine it's useless.
Go back to the original hd and connect both harddrive and cd as shown in picture. Two 4 pin plugs from the harness power the cd and the harddrive.

Can i send you my hard drives and see if one out of the 1 are good and program the tabsco  software into the one that is good ? I know the brand new i have does not have a program in it and I am not sure if the orginal one is any good ?
Or just sell me a hard drive with the program in it already .

also i noticed there is no sound from the machine at all. I believe it's the hard drive

Don't worry about sound yet.
Where your cd is plugged in with 4 wire plug, follow that wire back to the harness. There should be another 4 wire plug, that is where the plug from the harddrive harness plugs into.

Take a picture of both harddrives. The new one needs to be less than 80 gb. Any larger the old computer will not be able to work.(Remember the main board is based on a 1990s home computer)

I will be able to help you with a harddrive if you need one.
Let's get the motherboard up and running first.

In the meantime I will need the SB,SG,andVS chip numbers off of the lower cpu.

Sb000564, Sg 387 in 1 and 2, version VS009GX0. I followed that harness and it connects to a 4 pin connection that send the red and black wire to the harddrive

Coming from the harddrive plug most of the little black wires end up going to the IDE slot on the motherboard.
4 little black wires go to a 4 pin plug like the one on the cd. Is that plugged in or burned?

It should be attached to your new power supply.
